Test Catalog

Genotype HLA associated with Behçet B51

Clinical information

Diagnostic Utility:

Studying the HLA genotype allows us to identify HLA antigens associated with diseases such as Behçet's disease (HLA-B*51).

Method:

PCR-SSO for the HLA-B locus.

Exons 2 and 3 of the HLA-B gene are amplified by PCR using biotinylated primers. The amplified products are then hybridised with specific oligonucleotide probes immobilised on microspheres. Subsequently, the addition of a streptavidin-PE buffer allows visualisation of the hybridisation pattern using the LUMINEX system.
