Test Catalog

Gamma interferon secretion assay

Clinical information

Diagnostic Utility:

Test that determines the presence of specific T lymphocytes that secrete interferon gamma against viruses such as Cytomegalovirus, Adenovirus, Epstein Barr, and BK virus. It is a test used to determine if a donor has specific lymphocytes against a particular virus and thus evaluate if they are suitable as a donor for immunotherapy treatments.

Method:

Flow cytometry

Reference Values

To determine the presence of specific T lymphocytes, there must be a minimum percentage of these.
