Diagnostic Utility:
This test is used to determine whether the P1 antigen is present on red blood cells or not. It is part of the red blood cell phenotype study. It is also useful in the context of studying the specificity of irregular antibodies to demonstrate that in the presence of anti-P1 specificity, the person who has developed the antibody is P1 negative.

Hemagglutination.
