Clinical information

Diagnostic Utility:

This test is used to determine whether the Leb antigen is present on red blood cells or not. It is part of the red blood cell phenotype study. It is also useful in the context of studying the specificity of irregular antibodies to demonstrate that in the presence of an anti-Leb specificity, the person who developed the antibody is Leb negative.
