Diagnostic utility:

This is a high-frequency antigen. Its determination serves to find out if the Lub antigen is present or not in the erythrocytes. It is part of the erythrocyte phenotype study. It is also useful in the study of irregular antibody specificity to demonstrate that in the face of an anti-Lub specificity, the person who developed the antibody is Lub negative.

Hemagglutination.

Reference values

The possible results are: Negative, Positive.
In the case of a doubtful result, for example in the case of recent transfusions, this is reported and the need for complementary studies to unequivocally classify the Lub phenotype is indicated.
