Clinical information
Diagnostic Utility:
- This determination is useful in the typing of patients or donors where it is necessary to confirm the presence or absence of this antigen.
- There are different techniques for typing HPA antigens, with molecular biology techniques currently being the most used.
Method:
Determination of the HPA-1b genotype.
Prior to determining the genotype, DNA extraction from a blood sample in EDTA is required.
The study of the HPA-1b platelet genotype is carried out using the PCR SSP technique, with specific primers for the HPA-1b allele in a uniplex.
Results:
The results are:
- Positive
- Negative
Response Time:
10 working days
